The Tim Gillis Dance Weekends offer something for a wide range of the dancing community. There are workshops for Country Line Dancing that offer dance classes for Beginners, Intermediates, and Progressive line dancers. Lead and Follow Couples will also be able to choose from a variety of dance classes that include Two Step, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Hustle, and more!
The Choreographers and Dance Instructors teaching the classes are among some of the finest, friendliest, and most professional. The roster will always include some of the international favorites, based on their availability of course. Among them you will find Peter Metelnick & Alison Biggs (England), Max Perry & Kathy Hunyadi (Florida), John Robinson (Kentucky), Scott Blevins (Indiana), & Vivienne Scott (Canada). An outstanding lineup that only gets better because it includes some of the local favorites from Northeast USA like Rosie & Bruno Multari (New Jersey), Rona Kaye (New York), Forty Arroyo (Massachusetts), Mike & Dodie Serben (New Jersey), Johanna Barnes (Connecticut), Lynne Martino (New York), Mal & Linda Zerden (Virginia), George Winchell & Deb Adams (Pennsylvania)
The Disc Jockeys playing the music are also courteous, accommodating, and professional. Currently the disc jockey roster includes Bronco Jim (Pennsylvania), Alison Biggs (England), Mike Serben (New Jersey), & Donna Shea (Massachusetts). Doing a great job with Karaoke is Disc Jockey Dominic Trimboli (Ohio).
You will also have the pleasure of listening and dancing to the wonderful Tim Gillis Band, New Jersey's Premiere Country Dance and Show Band. This nine-piece group features pedal steel, fiddle, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards as well as three highly talented female vocalists. This combination consistently provides the best in Country Music. With the mailing list of over 3000, the TGB always attracts large numbers of people who love to dance to, and enjoy Country Music.
One of the highlights of these events is a Saturday Night Showcase that features the staff performing for all the guests. The show is put together and organized by Rosie Multari, who is the Dance Director for all the Tim Gillis Dance Weekends. With assistance from Rosie's husband, Bruno, and all the staff an entire showcase comes together for your enjoyment. On the site menu to your left put your mouse on the Video Section and then put your mouse on Watch Videos. You can choose to see videos from the 2006-2007 Spring, Summer, & Fall events. You can see how much fun and entertaining the showcases can be. All Jersey Studios has taken over the task of being the videographer for all the Tim Gillis Weekends. They create DVDs that are for sale which include the Saturday Night Showcase as well as segments containing brief instruction with the staff for all the dances that are taught.
The Spring and Fall Weekends are currently held at the Honor's Haven Resort & Spa, formerly the Fallsview Resort & Spa, located in the Catskill Mountains of New York state. It is currently undergoing rennovations and remodeling. Brand new Oak and Birch Hardwood Floating Dance Floors have been built with the help of Doug & Jackie Miranda from California. They spent a total of 2 weeks there with the Fallsview Staff building the floors. All the workshop rooms and open dance rooms have them! The accommodations are very nice and the food is great. Tim Gillis spends a great deal of time working with the staff at the venues to insure that the guests are comfortable and well taken care of. All of the Tim Gillis Weekends are "All Inclusive Events" which means you pay one price. This includes meals, lodgings, dance workshops, open dancing, complete step description book, gratuities, and use of the venue facilities. The Fallsview Resort & Spa pool has an indoor swimming pool, so bring your bathing suits! There is also a brand new workout room with excercise equipment, so you can workout between classes! Plenty of stuff to do...
